The G8 summit

The Group of Eight summit, G8, has kicked off in Japan. I'm ignorant about economy, business and politics, but I'm interested in the summit because they have been mulling over the global warming, the food crisis and the soaring oil price and so forth. These issues are familiar to us, I think.

Although our prime minister have joined hands with other nations to hammer out the issues, I doubt whether they'll be able to step forward or take drastic steps. On top of that, this time Japan is hosting of the summit. I don't think our prime minister will be able to put forward proposals and lead them. To be honest, I take his ability with a grain of salt. One reason is that even if we try to live frugally, we can't brush away concern about our future.

Well, I'm going to watch him closely during the summit.
