Yeah, I know your point. Usually I catch the way..But.. in this cace, I thought B, who was a boy, should have say " you too"...uh...
A merry Christmas has two meanings, one is " クリスマス、おめでとう", another is " よいクリスマスを".
I guess the boy ALSO wanted to say " a merry christmas",I mean the later. But to avoid repeating, he said the way....
Another case, one of our English circle's members have experienced like that.. She talked with a native freind, who was a kid. And when they ended up chatting, my freind said " Take care". Then the native freind said " me too".. She couldn't understand, either.
As you said, the greeding is " you too"...yeah..
Is it " kids' coin phrases"???
Hello Rosily, you certainly don't know me but let me tell you that I often give comment on Nopooh's blog. You can call me "sweety"... I've got this blog from Nopooh's site and got attracted to your curiousity regarding with the use of the phrase "me too". Well, you can use "me too" if I say, I loved the film of "Home Alone" and you could say "me too" if you like it as well. But if I greet you A Merry Christmas then you could say "you too" (it means "to you too" or you are returning my greetings back to me) Are you getting my point?
