English Only

When one of my students, who is in her 60's, took my lesson last Tuesday as usual, she said, " VibrantRose, I try to use ONLY English during the lesson!"

She has been endeavoring to improve her skills in order to communicate others in English. When we got to know each other, she knew English words but couldn't communicate in English. She was apt to use Japanese when she struggled to find English words or expressions.
Ever since she entered my class, she has tried a Japanese-free conversation during my lessons. However, she was liable to use Japanese, so I said, "English, please" to her every time.^^;

The last lesson, however, wasn't the same as usual. She tried to use only English even though she didn't come out expressions she wanted to say. When she seemed to struggle, I helped her, of course. And then, she kept talking in English.
After the lesson, I was moved because she didn't use Japanese at all. I saw her improvement in English during the lesson.
She was also surprised and said, " I didn't expect to pull it off. Thank you, VibrantRose!"

I'd like to say, " You don't need to say thank you to me. Your efforts bore fruit. That's all."

Thank you for visiting here and giving me your comment.

Yeah, her skills is absolutely getting better. I bet you already have English at your fingertips. I'm happy to share some time with you whenever you want!

Wow! She is wonderful. I want to improve my English like she does. Thank you for sharing such a nice story with us.
