Gold Medals for My Students

A lot of Japanese were bursting with joy when Japanese athletes won medals at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, though, my students were overflowing with joy and tensions at their "games"-the annual interview test.

All my students and I were at a community center to take the test yesterday. We had been practicing speaking English for a month. Some had to make a short speech and answer an examiner's questions, for example, " What do you usually do after school?", " How do you get to school?" and so forth, the others had to answer questions about some pictures.

I wasn't an examinee, of course, though, I had tens of thousands of butterflies in my stomach because I could see how much their English skills improved and what my teaching skills were like.

They came into their own. Some won the gold medals, which means that they got full marks in both the writing and the interview test and gold medals were given to them only. Moreover, a few of them were gold medalists two years in a row. The others did good work, of course!

After the test, I was worn out more than my students...lol
