With My Old Friend

The other day, one of my old friends called me and said, "Hi, how's it going? Well, I know you've been busy, but do me a favor, please?"

I was happy to talk with her because it had been a while since we had last chatted. At the same time, I was a little surprised that she asked me seriously.
According to her, her older daughter goes to cram school and the teacher had pushed her to study English much more. She and her mother-my friend, didn't know what to do at first. As such, she asked me to give some advice to her daughter as an English teacher.

I was willing to accept her request, of course, and I visited her house to hear the details yesterday. They welcomed me warmly and explained her matter. She has been keeping up with the English level at her school, but as for that of the cram school, she has been struggling to do that. In fact, the teacher at the cram school told her that she would lag behind the other students or she wouldn't cut the mustard unless she shored up her studies, English in particular.

It seems harsh to her, doesn't it. But, I happen to believe that it's a true aspect of cram school in Japan.
I checked her text books and found the errors and her weaknesses. I gave her as many tips as I could come up with.

I hope my advice will be helpful....

Hi, Pippi san

First of all, I'm so sorry for interrupting you the other day. > < I was curious to call you becasue I was free in the week.

Yes, you can say that again. Thanks to them, I've kept brushing up on my skills and I'm always encouraged. ;) Without them, I couldn't have started doing that nor I wasn't here.

I'm looking forward to chatting with you soon! I'm craving for that all the time. lol

Hi, Vibrant Rose-san!
Thank you for the offer the other day. I really want to talk with someone in English because I have few opportunities to do so these days. I'm a little bit frustrated... So, I'm waiting for the next chat meeting with you. As you said above, the friends and people who have mutual interests are really important. These days, I realize how lucky I am to have good fellows who like English like you. Your sincere attitude striving to master English is so inspiring. Thank you! See you soon.
