A Rebellious Stage

Every time my son is promoted, I can see his growth. He's in the fourth grade and into playing soccer now.
I'm surprised to see that recently he has very often showed an aspect of men since he went into that grade.
He, for example, talks back to me and my hubby when we scold him. Whether reasonable or unreasonable, he insists on his opinion. He didn't used to do that before, so I'm surprised, but at the same time I'm happy to see his growth. Having said that, he's still young. I mean that sometimes he behaves childish, sometimes like adults. I think it's time to become conscious of his ego at his age.

To be honest, I was a little confused about how to deal with him. That's why I talked with him to make a clean breast of our feelings. Thanks to that time, I realized that I was apt to think him like a small boy and intrude my opinion on him rather than listening to him. To add to that, I was liable to cut in the middle of his talking when he was talking about a half-baked opinion.

He's still wet behind ears, but I learned an important thing from him: he already has his own ego.
